What time is the NFL game tonight? TV schedule, channel for Jets vs. Browns in Week 17

August 2024 · 3 minute read

The Browns can clinch a playoff spot at home for the first time since 2002 with a win over the Jets in Week 17’s “Thursday Night Football.”

Cleveland is in an advantageous position in large part because of its offense led by a rejuvenated 38-year-old Joe Flacco. Shining in the absence of franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson, Flacco has propelled the Browns to three straight victories.

He has done so in part by developing a rapport with standout receiver Amari Cooper, who will look to top last week’s historic performance. Against the Texans, Cooper racked up 265 yards and a pair of touchdowns, pacing Cleveland’s 36-point outburst. He set a new single-game receiving yards record for the franchise, breaking Josh Gordon’s previous high of 261 yards, which had stood for over a decade.

But Cooper will face stiff competition in the form of New York’s secondary. The duo of defensive backs Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed has been a lone bright spot for the Jets this season. New York allows just 168.6 passing yards per game, the second-fewest in the NFL, trailing only the Browns.

Who will have the upper hand, Cooper and Flacco or Gardner and Reed? Here's what you need to know about Thursday's Week 17 clash between the Jets and Browns, including broadcast information and start time.
